The Drop Trailer Starring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini

thedrop

The first trailer for James Gandolfini’s final film has arrived online this week and it looks like something that should please fans of The Sopranos. The Drop is based on a short story by Dennis Lehane (Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island) and it stars Tom Hardy as a Brooklyn bartender who finds himself at the wrong end of a robbery that rips off some local gangsters. The movie is directed by Belgian filmmaker Michael R. Roskam (Bullhead) and Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) also co-stars. It doesn’t look overly flashy, it just appears to be a solid crime drama and I’m okay with that. The Drop hits select theatres on Sept. 19th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

  • Nice to see Noomi Rapace re-teaming with Tom Hardy after Prometheus. They had great chemestry in that movie.

I think it’s a joke as in the FJ guys I believe kept referring to the dude in Prometheus that kind of looks like Tom Hardy as Tom Hardy in the episode about Prometheus.
