Sex Tape Trailer Starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel

Although last summer was mostly a disappointing one for comedies, this year is not looking all that much better. We do have 22 Jump Street to look forward to along with Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West and Neighbors also received a lot of positive reviews at SXSW. The other major upcoming studio comedy is Sex Tape, which finds Cameron Diaz reteaming with Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan and co-star Jason Segel (who has apparently slimmed down for the role).

As you can probably guess, the story revolves around a couple who film themselves having sex only to have the video accidentally leak online. The way that it leaks is pretty questionable (they gave out a bunch of iPads to family and friends and it auto-synced to the cloud?) but the mad dash to recover the video is where most of the laughs will lie. The trailer looked okay to me, although for a red band trailer, it’s not particularly raunchy. Sex Tape hits theatres on July 25th; check out the first trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Everything looked funny to me, except Cameron Diaz, although she was shockingly hot. Hard to believe Something about Mary was 16 years ago

    These people are giving out ipads to their mail man? They must be made of money.

    I really don’t know how apple’s stuff works but if it was uploaded to the “cloud” couldn’t you take it down from the cloud from your own ipad. It doesn’t automatically upload you videos to other peoples ipads. Is it still product placement if the object is seen in a somewhat negative light like this?

    New Comedy Movie Shows Dog Slamming “Sex Tape” (2014)

    The new Cameron Diaz / Jason Segel “comedy” movie “Sex Tape” (2014), I feel, promotes and prompts animal abuse, via “comically” using a treadmill set on high speed, to throw a dog into a wall at high speed, “comically” knocking the dog out cold. This is highly irresponsible to show impressionable children who are sometimes unknowingly or even knowingly cruel.

    At best, it looks like it will only be rated R: “People under 17 years may only be admitted if accompanied by a parent or guardian”.

    So, it’s okay for impressionable children to watch and BE ENCOURAGED TO LAUGH AT (BY WATCHING THEIR PARENTS AND THE WHOLE AUDIENCE LAUGH), a very popular and attractive actor, use a high powered household machine, to throw a dog into a wall, knocking it out cold… as long as they are with their parents?

    How many children are going to turn Mommy’s treadmill on high speed (if they can operate a smart phone, a treadmill is child’s play) and drop the family dog onto it, thinking “if the pretty man does it and people laugh, then it’s funny and good to do”?
