Frank Trailer Starring Michael Fassbender

It’s a little unusual to see an A-list actor like Michael Fassbender cast in a movie only to wear a giant oversized mask for the majority of the run time, but then Lenny Abrahamson’s Frank looks to be a pretty unusual film. It was co-written by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare at Goats) and based loosely on a real-life musician known as Frank Sidebottom. Ronson played in his band back in the ’80s and more recently wrote an article about him for The Guardian. The movie is decribed as an ode to outsider artists and musicians and the first trailer looks both bizarre and hilarious. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Domhnall Gleeson and Scoot McNairy also co-star. Frank hits theatres in the U.K. on May 9th and in the U.S. later this year; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Was this supposed to be a Charlie Kaufman film with Steve Carell or am I confused?

  • Sean

Different movie. That one was called Frank or Francis.

Franks Sidebottom is a very English thing, although this film looks a bit broader. I’ve always found the head thing a bit creepy. Looking forward to the film though.
