Monday Morning Box Office Report: Ride Along Keeps On Rolling

Ride Along

Well it may have been billed as being “From the Producers of Underworld” but unfortunately I, Frankenstein failed to put up Underworld-type numbers over the weekend. The movie bombed with just $8.3 million, earning less than half of what Underworld: Rise of the Lycans made back in 2009. Instead it was Ride Along that topped the box office for the second weekend in a row as the Ice Cube / Kevin Hart comedy cruised to another $21 million, bringing its current total to $75 million. Lone Survivor just barely managed to hang on to the #2 spot over The Nut Job while Frozen and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit rounded out the top 5. Next weekend Ride Along will get a bit of competition from That Awkward Moment, although it is an R-rated comedy and probably won’t have the same broad appeal.

1. Ride Along — $21.2M
2. Lone Survivor — $12.6M
3. The Nut Job — $12.3M
