Disney debuted a new trailer for their upcoming film Maleficent at the Grammys last night with the twist being that it is a very music-driven trailer unveiling Lana Del Rey’s cover of the classic Sleeping Beauty theme “Once Upon a Dream.” The song definitely sets an appropriate mood for the film, although it also means we only get a few brief snippets of dialogue in the trailer. On the flip side, we get a much better look at the film’s special effects, production design and Angelina Jolie’s cheekbones. I guess at this point it’s just expected that all fantasy films have to feature a giant CG battle of some sort. Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg and it hits theatres on May 30th; check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
