First Official Photo from Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the few 2014 summer blockbusters that did not manage to drop any sort of teaser trailer before the end of the year, likely due to the fact that there is still too much post-production work to be done (the same goes for Transformers: Age of Extinction and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot). Still, Marvel is trying to make up for that fact by kicking off the New Year with the first official still from the movie, giving us our first real look at the team’s line-up. From left to right, we have Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Batista) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). What do you think, are they heading in the right direction here?     Well, hope that they not play it safe and try to make something which is not the usual Superhero Comic movie. But Disney aka Marvel will try to avoid another Lone Ranger / John Carter bomb and will play it safe. So let´s hope……

    It is a movie with a talking raccoon and a tree being that says one phrase as its entire range of dialogue. There is only so much playing it safe they can do with that premise.

    I think casting Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper as voice actors was probably a decision that was made with marquee name appeal in mind, though I am certainly not knocking Vin Diesel’s potential performance after the Iron Giant.
