Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman

Surprise, surprise… the rumours are true. Wonder Woman will indeed be making an appearance in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel alongside Batman, setting the stage for the formation of the Justice League. This week Warner Brothers announced that Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious) will be playing the Amazon Princess in the movie, apparently beating out Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) for the role. At the moment, it’s unclear how extensive her involvement will be, but obviously she will be a key part of DC’s cinematic universe moving forward. Zack Snyder had this to say about the announcement:


“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Gadot is best known for playing Gisele in the last few Fast & Furious movies, a former Mossad agent and love interest of Han. Her only other movie credits include minor roles in Knight & Day and Date Night. Obviously this also leads to speculation about the possibility of Green Lantern or The Flash also turning up in the film, although it does seem less likely. What do you think, is Gal Godot a good choice to play Wonder Woman? Are you worried that they are introducing too many characters here or will it help reduce the amount of set-up required in the Justice League movie?

    First if they introduce her as wonder womans alter ego dianna prince as a love interest it will be better. I only want very little wonderwoman in the movie. the movie needs to be about batman and superman. bring justice leauge later just keep the wonderwoman to maybe a quick little scene. but have dianna right there aluding to it. you know what i mean? as far as the casting choice i am not happy. i dont think she has been in anything to give her clout to play wonder woman. the fast movies are cheesy and they suck. however, i will give her the bennefit of the doubt. heath ledger did the joker so maybe she will be able to pull off wonder woman. being the biggest movie of the year i dont think the execs or zack snyder would cast someone who couldnt pull it off. ugh!

  • well she’s no Amazon woman, that’s for sure. but I guess she could have already starting pounding beefcake and she probably knows a bit about lifting weights if she spent any time around the Rock.

    This should be interesting. I swear, for the longest time, I had it in my head that Henrey Cavills girlfriend and mix martial artist Gina Carrano was gonna end up being cast as wonder woman… But then again I don’t know how tall she is. I gotta admit though… Gadot is pretty hot and has a sexy comic book character face.

    Could they have chosen a scrawnier actor for this role? Seriously. This woman is far from Amazonian. Wonder Woman is not some anemic waif runway model. There are SO many other excellent actors out there to choose from, and this is what they come up with? Lame.
