You guys should do a Hans Zimmer premium podcast ;) Compare and contrast all of his scores, spot the similarities, hum the themes etc.

    Same with James Horner.

  • Bandit Manatee

Haven’t listened to the episode yet, but loving my PS4 aside from the weak exclusive launch line up… the software will be getting there by this time next year, and the system is quite solid. Hope you guys can do a next gen impressions game junk in the next week or two.

  • patrik

As for popcorn. Mine is pretty much gone before the movie starts, with all those trailers and commercials and whatnot.

  • Indianamcclain

I’m with Jay concerning the score for 12 Years a Slave. When I was sitting in the theatre I was thinking it sounded a lot like “Time” from Inception.

  • patrik

Haven’t listened to that part of the show yet, as I haven’t seen the movie but would you say that it is more or less reminiscent of “Time” than say, that last piece in Captain Phillips?

  • Indianamcclain

More reminiscent of “Time” for me. Although that last piece on Captain Phillips also has similarities to that piece as well.

i had an idea for your January Premium

JANUARY: Bad Movie Premium (In Honer of Bad Movies In january) (Troll 2 & Gooby & Nailgun Massacre & A Gnome Named Gnorm)

    That would be AMAZING!!!!!

  • DAS RACIST

12 Years of Slave in D-box. The back of the seat vibrates when Patsey gets her back ripped open?

  • devolutionary

From now on, we should always have a podcast segment where Jay just reels off beat-box sound effects for random Hans Zimmer scores. Just an idea guys! ;)

  • Guest

Zimmer’s got nuthin’ on HOWARD SHORE. I just watched Dead Ringers recently, and you can actually hear LORD OF THE RINGS moments in the score…Now if there were ever two different films than Dead Ringers and LotR, well, let me know.

I like the theme. I think the Twilight series fits.

Re: Rob Ford– a more fitting American political analog would be someone like Marion Barry (for smoking crack) or Anthony Wiener (for seeming to purposely spiral more and more out of control in the public eye.) Though divisive, Bush was never a “scandalous” politician in the way Ford has been.

  • reed for mayor

sick sean sounds like 10 year old sean

  • RAAB HIMSELF

Jay and Frank finally need to bang and have a kid, then they can start a show with Sean’s son called Film Junk Babyz.

  • Andrew James

I’m with Sean on Dead Rising games. I don’t get the hype.

  • Loren

LMAO!!! Brad Pitt sounds like Forest Gump! Love it.. becuase I felt the same way..Seems like he isn’t bringing anything new to his characters. At least Paul Dano is trying to do something.. sorry Frank dislikes him.. I dislike him too, but his characters are mostly there to hate. I did feel sympathy for him in “Prisoners” though. He did a great job.

Also similar to Frank, I had an unfortunate vomiting incident on a plane; however, my brother was the culprit. This was a long time ago when we were pretty young, but I recall having the sleeve of my denim jacket (and the newspaper I was reading) ruined when he decided to get up from a seat behind me and ‘attempt’ to dart to the nearest washroom. Needless to say, he wasn’t even close to making it and I had dried up puke etched on my jacket for quite some time.

Antebellum premium podcast? You can cover Mandingo and its sequel Drum, Goodbye Uncle Tom, then lighten things up with Show Boat and Song of the South. Has the potential to be the least downloaded podcast ever, but topically could be the most interesting.

  • Jericho Slim

The theme made me think of the theme from McQueen’s second film – Shame. Apparently, the Shame theme was based on Zimmer’s Thin red line score.

I once had someone munch on popcorn right next to me during a screening of the holocaust documentary An Unfinished Film.

I know some shows at the TIFF Bell Lightbox don’t allow food in. I don’t know what criteria this is based on, but apparently it was not in effect during the aforementioned screening…

  • Falsk

How come no one’s mentioned a Conan premium?

  • Sean

We were kinda waiting to see what happens with The Legend of Conan, although that seems like it’s still going to be a while.

  • Falsk

    Ahh–fair enough.
