2013 Cinema Eye Documentary Nominees Announced

Although it will probably be another month before the Oscar shortlist for documentary features is announced, last week the Cinema Eye Honors announced their 2013 nominees for best non-fiction films of the year. This is an organization that was formed by director A.J. Schnack in order to give more recognition and exposure to documentaries, especially those that are typically shunned by the Academy. Stories We Tell, The Act of Killing and Leviathan are among this year’s films nominated for multiple awards. If you’re looking to catch up on some of the best docs of the year, this is probably a good place to start. Check out the full list of nominees after the jump and let us know what you think!
