Opinions seem to be somewhat divided over whether or not the new trailer for the upcoming RoboCop remake is an improvement on the first one that was released back in September. At the very least, it offers some new clues as to how the remake will set itself apart from the original film, particularly with the context for how and why RoboCop is created. It also showcases the increased agility and mobility of RoboCop in this version, even if most of the action is still shown in quick flashes. That being said, I like what I see of Samuel L. Jackson’s character and I think if they can manage to keep some of the dark humour and satire, then perhaps this new film might still be a success.
