Wolf Creek 2 Trailer

Back in 2005, Greg Mclean’s Wolf Creek earned the dubious distinction of being awarded zero stars from Roger Ebert, who stated in his review, “I wanted to walk out of the theatre and keep on walking.” The film’s brutal violence turned off a lot of critics but it did earn the respect of genre fans and went on to become a commercial success. Now eight years later, after the box office failure of his killer croc movie Rogue, Mclean is returning with Wolf Creek 2.

John Jarratt reprises his role as Mick Taylor, the Australian hunter turned serial killer who preys upon tourists in the outback. Once again, the plot is said to be loosely inspired by true events, although this time I suspect things will get even more gruesome. Wolf Creek 2 hits theatres in Australia on Feb. 20th but the movie is still seeking distribution in the U.S. Check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

The Australian Tourism Board must hate these movies.

I’m surprised to learn Ebert only gave it one star. I loved Wolf Creek and found it one of the most tense cinema going experiences.
