New to Theatres This Weekend: Carrie, Escape Plan, The Fifth Estate

The only horror movie of this Halloween season hits theatres this weekend as the remake of Carrie goes up against the Sylvester Stallone / Arnold Schwarzenegger prison break movie Escape Plan and the Julian Assange biopic The Fifth Estate starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The latter two both seem destined to bomb at the box office, but Carrie could potentially hold her own… even if Gravity will ultimately win out for the third week in a row. In select theatres we also have a pair of heavy Oscar contenders in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave and All is Lost starring Robert Redford. Other noteworthy movies in limited release include Kill Your Darlings starring Daniel Radcliffe and the George A. Romero documentary Birth of the Living Dead. What will you be watching this weekend?
