This Week on DVD and Blu-ray: The Hangover Part III, After Earth, Much Ado About Nothing

dvdthehangoveriii

Not a great week for the big blockbuster releases on DVD and Blu-ray, but if you’re looking to pick up some horror flicks for Halloween you just might find something worthwhile. The biggest titles hitting stores this week are the critical punching bags The Hangover: Part III and M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth, but beyond that there are also a handful of recent genre releases including The Purge starring Ethan Hawke, Europa Report starring Sharlto Copley and a brand new Child’s Play sequel / reboot called Curse of Chucky. Joss Whedon’s Shakespeare adaptation Much Ado About Nothing is also out this week and on Blu-ray we’ve got the 40th Anniversary Edition of The Exorcist, the 30th Anniversary Edition of Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life and high-def releases of the sci-fi classics Fantastic Voyage and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Will you be picking up anything this week? Check out the full list of new releases after the jump.

Totally forgot that Nothing Left To Fear was being released. I’m assuming it was only in film festivals and/or VOD prior? Curious to see if Slash’s producer/composer debut is any good as I hear he’s quite the horror buff. Europa Report is also tickling my fancy.
