Alex Gibney’s The Armstrong Lie Trailer

Ever since the truth came out about Lance Armstrong, Hollywood producers have been climbing over each other as they attempt to get the story up on the big screen as quickly as possible. There are currently three competing Lance Armstrong biopics in development but before any of those movies hit theatres, we will get to see a feature-length documentary on the subject called The Armstrong Lie, courtesy of Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room).

In 2009, Gibney originally set out to capture Armstrong’s triumphant comeback but the movie took a drastic turn after the doping allegations surfaced. When Armstrong eventually admitted his guilt, Gibney was furious and made a renewed effort to get to the truth. The result seems to be an intriguing investigation into the nature of sports, celebrity and deception. The Armstrong Lie hits select theatres on Nov. 8th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I would have loved to see this called “Lie Strong”

  • I’m interested! Also totally think a Bradley Cooper starring biopic is a good call. Was that a rumour or a real thing?
