Its too long since we had a rant! :-)

  • “Daniel” Brühl not “Steve” :) #Rush

  • Sweet Blus

I use VUDU and had no problems. but i just stream it through my android tablet, different blu rays players, and my TV. Sucks that VUDU is US only because there HDX is really sweet looking. I hate Itunes digital copies because i cant use it on anything other than Apple products.

  • Napalm

Just gonna drop by to say that Breaking Bad has cemented itself as one of the greatest shows ever made.

  • Colin

Definitely review Don Jon next week if you can find the time to see it… I’m assuming Gravity will be the main review.

  • piggystardust

    It’s a Tim & Eric reference, bruh!

  • Boris Badnov

Sean if you ain’t gonna use them ultraviolet codes you outta scatter them throughout the podcast to give listeners the incentive to listen to the whole show. Maybe 3 letters in the news segment, 3 letters in the review… You get what I’m sayin’.

  • pineapplepuss

I agree, but I didn’t find the finale to be as exciting as I was hoping. Still good though!

  • jarny

    go see don jon

  • jarny

my three favorite shows of all time
    1. married with children
    2.lost
    3. Breaking Bad

Ha ha, I know Frank likes to be contrary but this was ridiculous. Everyone thinks Bryan Cranston was great…no says Frank he was actually one-note. Everyone loves Jesse, me? Nah. I have to agree with Sean, Cranston was ‘next-level’. When he called Skylar two episodes ago he was definitely conveying two emotions, i.e. anger and immense sorrow. Probably the best acting he has done on the show.

One point: Walt didn’t originally intend to rescue Jesse. He was planning to kill him until he realised he was the Nazis’ prisoner, not their partner.

  • Napalm

My jaw was hanging low when Frank said Cranston’s performance was pretty ‘one note’ and that ‘anyone can act angry’… C’mon Frank! That’s all you took away from his performance. C’mon.

  • Napalm

The finale was ‘Oyzmandias’ to me… everything after that felt like Walt coming to terms with his inevitable demise (epilogue). And I’m glad it worked out that way.

The show has given us so many ‘holy shit’ worthy moments that it didn’t need to go balls out on the final episode. It was appropriately somber.

  • Tom Nook

Frank, can you link to that Sopranos piece about Tony that you referenced?

e: Also, completely agree about Cranston’s performance.

  • TheRealNeo

Frank, could you link to the documentary about Hunt/Lauda on YouTube or how it was called? :)
    Thanks!

  • reed wolfington

i want a 4 hour wolf of wall street in my butt

  • Mrespony

I was shocked at Sean’s troubles with digital downloads. Frank, you seem to have a clue, help Sean out man, seriously. “You’ve had this pair of extra gloves this whole time?”

  • Sean

Just to clarify my confusion and complaints… I guess I just assumed that by now they would have a system that is standard for all digital copies that everyone is happy with. That is clearly not the case.

I have my digital downloads divided across 4 or 5 different accounts right now, which is ridiculous. Anything that came with an Ultraviolet code worked fine, and a lot of the iTunes codes worked fine as well.

But if the digital copy required me to actually put in a disc and copy
the file onto my computer, I didn’t bother because that is of no use to me. I am only interested if I can store it in “the cloud.”

The ones that actually straight up didn’t work were a handful of Universal releases that won’t let me claim them on CinemaNow even though it is listed as an option. In Firefox it brings up a blank page, on Internet Explorer it tells me the code isn’t valid and in Safari it asks me to enter credit card information as if I’m about to be charged for it. How that is possible, I have no idea.

  • Guest

Yeah and thanks for spoiling Sopranos btw!

  • Sean

I don’t know that we actually did spoil The Sopranos ending, we just talked about one person’s interpretation of it.

  • PlanBFromOuterSpace

I just got done listening to the “Iceman” discussion, and I’d like to point out that HBO did 2 or 3 documentaries in the late 90’s and early 00’s about the real guy, which I’m surprised Jay didn’t mention. If he hasn’t seen them though, I strongly recommend them, as it’s all interviews with the real Iceman, and he’s just one scary, scary dude. The new movie literally feels like they took those several hours of material and just hit on the bullet points (no pun intended), as the film itself feels pretty disjointed, like they don’t explain a lot and just go from one thing happening to another thing happening, with little in the way of transitions. I don’t think they assumed you’d seen all those other gangster movies as much as they assumed you’d seen “The Iceman Interviews”. It kind of reminded me of when VH-1 would do a “Behind the Music” on someone, and then they’d follow it with a made-for-TV biopic where they literally had whatever actors they could afford act out that episode to hilarious results, because in that case they couldn’t afford to license the music, and the big Madison Square Garden show that defined the musician’s career would clearly be filmed in a garage somewhere. “Iceman” wasn’t THAT bad, but it didn’t really feel like a theatrical release.

  • Steve Kroodsma

It baffles me that you still have to enter a code for each of these. If you have 300+ movies it becomes a real hassle. Just throw a QR code on there and scan them all with a smartphone. You could knock out the whole collection in an hour.

Thank you. Love the avatar btw. :)

Also new on Netflix-U.S. – Ridley Scott’s “1492: Conquest of Paradise”, “American Gigolo”, “Room 237″, “Dressed to Kill”, “Fargo”, “King of New York”, “Resident Evil”, “Ghostbusters”, “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, “Road House”, “Congo”, “The Last Days of Disco”, “Troll”, “Troll 2″, “Breaking Away”, “The Sand Pebbles”,”Fire in the Sky”, “Blood and Wine”, and “Pumpkinhead”. But maybe you were going to get to those next week.

  • Bunglebush

Frank Would you call what the actors do in rush kinda a Diatribe of emotional exposition?

  • Mrespony

Yeah, I just got the Friday the 13th collection on baby blu and tried getting into the Ultraviolet thingy and it’s a bit of a hassle. Then you get into the whole “this one doesn’t play over your set top box but it will on your mobile/tablet” stuff. I try to stick to one service, so for me, the biggest annoyance is with studios that want to go with the least adopted option possible.
