2013 Emmy Award Winners

I’m not too sure how many people were watching the Emmys live last night considering that it was airing at the same time as the second last episode of Breaking Bad, but that’s probably for the best anyway. Although Breaking Bad took home the award for Outstanding Drama, both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective categories. Shockingly, it was Jeff Daniels who stole the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in The Newsroom, while Bobby Cannavale landed Best Supporting Actor for Boardwalk Empire. Anna Gunn did get Best Supporting Actress, however, much to the chagrin of the Skyler White haters.
Other less surprising winners included Claire Danes, who won Best Actress for Homeland for the second year in a row, and Jim Parsons for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (his third win). Modern Family was also amed Best Comedy Series while Steven Soderbergh’s HBO film Behind the Candelabra cleaned up in the Miniseries / Movie category. The Netflix original series House of Cards was shut out with the exception of David Fincher taking home an award for directing. Did you watch the 2013 Emmy Awards?
