  • Tom Nook

The thirst for the Friday The 13th premium is real.

  • Tommy

    Woo doggy!

  • Sam

I’m very excited for the Friday the 13th premium but do fear a bit that the movies all might be too similar to have a decent discussion on them, though I have faith they’ll make it entertaining still.

About today’s episode, I don’t want to pretend to know what the scheduling for TIFF is like but seems like some pretty lackluster picks for Frank to check out. Wish he had something to say on some of the others Jay and Sean checked out or watched a couple of the many others that no one else checked out.

  • JY

Thought you guys might be interested. The guy with the deformed face from Under the Skin was not an actor. That was actually his face.

  • Sean

I guess that makes sense. I wasn’t necessarily thinking that it wasn’t his real face but just because he had a long scene with a fair bit of dialogue I thought maybe he was one of the few non-actors.

  • Lori Cerny

Re the Robocop trailer – yeah, they might not show the actor’s face at all. They did it in Dredd and it worked fine.

  • Colin

Marginally disappointed that we didn’t get a Riddick review simply because I would have liked Frank to have to revisit (or would it simply be a visit) the previous films in the series… maybe talk about the video games as well.

    Alas

  • poneylover horsey

thank you for this sirs, i was wondering for a minute there.. (about the break)

    ps

why not talk about some al pacino films in a dedicated/premium podcast – scent of a woman, dog day afternoon, the devils advocate etc

or maybe paul verhoeven’s stuff, the guy fascinates me

how about this: instead of just friday the 13th, you group together some of the best 80s slashers: the burning, sleepaway camp.. perhaps add re-animator, candyman.. i.. i dunno.

  • Captain Fram

Any chance of covering Riddick next podcast?

  • Gerry

Mama Knezic tips off her little Frankie, the apple of her eye, about a local retailer who’s getting rid of some first rate cherrywood shelves so that he has a solid and decent home for his beloved blu rays instead of those second rate
    self assemble IKEA Billy’s.

How does little Frankie thank his devoted mother?

‘For the last time mom, I’m far too busy fuming and raging about a little French on some of my blu ray spines to take you to see The Butler.’ For shame!

Your two Film Junk episode 87’s are followed by Film Junk 88, not 89, so your 250th episode is dedicated to a review of Sherlock Holmes and in your 400th
    ep you review Django Unchained.

  • Sean

There is a chance, but it’s a small one.

  • Henry

I’m sure there are plenty of journalists who covered all this, as opposed to someone who does this whole thing for their own enjoyment and to share with others, unpaid and in amongst presumably having some sort of life too.

  • Jonathan Glazer stated when asked during the Q&A, at the Under the Skin screening I went to, that the deformed man was a non-actor.

  • Tom Nook

Wow, I can’t believe the intro song isn’t TV On the Radio.

  • Captain Fram

    I’ll take it!

  • Sam

Yeah, I’m sure there are many journalists that covered all that. And there are a few dozen movies that sounded interesting. But it’s the same reason I come here instead of those places because I enjoying hearing Jay, Sean and Frank discuss movies themselves.

I’m not criticizing anyone, especially how MANY movies they watched. Just simply said that out of all the possible movies there, I would have liked to hear Frank talk about almost any other two movies there.

Hell, I think the Mamo guys watched like 50+ movies, which I definitely agree with Jay in that that is way too much to watch in such a short time frame.

  • Strybeck

Frank’s little throat clearing thing was definitely audible.

  • Sean

    Busted!

  • kyri

agh.. this is probably the first time I miss a podcast by a week! ..Damn you work..

  • Meth Rogen

where did this episode go? :(
