New to Theatres This Weekend: Riddick, Hell Baby, Salinger

With most of the movie industry descending on Toronto this weekend, there isn’t a whole lot to see in theatres throughout the rest of North America. The only major release to kick off September is Riddick starring Vin Diesel, which should put it in position for an easy box office win despite lukewarm reviews. Other releases in select theatres include the horror comedy Hell Baby starring Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb and the latest indie drama from Lynn Shelton, Touchy Feely starring Rosemarie DeWitt and Ellen Page. In addition, we also have a pair of intriguing documentaries: Shane Salerno’s Salinger and Good Ol’ Freda, which centers on The Beatles’ long-time secretary Freda Kelly. What will you be checking out this weekend?

We weren’t sure, but yes, it looks like that will be the case. The good news is that there will be a new Ball Junk coming on Monday.
