We’ve got a couple of major movie and TV releases hitting stores this week (including one of the summer’s bigger hits) but not a heck of a lot else. Baz Luhrman’s The Great Gatsby was one of the few non-animated / non-action flicks to find a huge audience over the past few months and it finally comes to DVD and Blu-ray (not to mention 3-D Blu-ray), along with Michael Bay’s first smaller budget movie in quite some time, Pain & Gain starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. The third season of The Walking Dead and the fifth season of Sons of Anarchy are also out today along with the first season of CBS’ Sherlock Holmes re-imagining Elementary. Other noteworthy releases include the Academy Award-nominated film Kon-Tiki and Korean thriller A Company Man, plus new on Blu this week look for Larry Cohen’s Q: The Winged Serpent and the forgotten 1990 sci-fi action flick I Come in Peace starring Dolph Lundgren.
