Film Junk Poll: What is the Best Ben Affleck Movie?

pollaffleck

In light of this week’s major bombshell, I think it’s only appropriate that we take a look at the track record of one Mr. Ben Affleck in the latest Film Junk poll. (In fact, it seems doubly appropriate given that last week’s poll focused on his buddy Matt Damon.) In order to keep the conversation focused on his acting ability, I have left out movies that he directed but did not star in (ie. Gone Baby Gone). I think most would agree that there are some pretty solid films on this list, but it’s up for debate just how many of them actually showcased a standout performance by Affleck. He may have charisma but can the boy act? What is Ben Affleck’s best movie in front of the camera? Cast your vote in this week’s poll and then sound off in the comments below.

It’s funny, I was listening to an old film junk recently. It was the episode after you guys did a Matt Damon/Ben Affleck versus and you mentioned Affleck was going to start a directing career, and Sean said something foreboding like “It’ll be interesting to see if this goes anywhere” FFWD 6 years later and he hoists a golden globe over his head for best director!

    You din’t list “Batman”, Sean

That’s an Oscar waiting to happen.

  • daneforst

Daredevil is way ahead. Seems like everyone is taking this one seriously

  • Glendon

The Sum Of All Fears is so underrated. Changing Lanes was properly lauded at the time but is now unjustly ignored.

  • Falsk

All those jokesters voting for “Daredevil”… VERY FUNNY, INNERNET.

  • Banana-Puss

and where’s Dogma? can’t you get any poll right?

  • johnnygood

Scre you! Some of us actually love that film!

  • La Menthe

Lol, a Golden Globe! Wow! That must really mean something?! Why not also mention that his film won the Best Film award at the Oscars! Because those awards actually have a real significance.

Forgive me for my sarcasm, but I find it funny how some people find awards like the Oscars, highly political and made only for high-budget English-speaking films, important. Not to mention The Golden Globes, an even less significant and less relevant awards show.

At least the Golden Globes nominated ‘We need to talk about Kevin’ for something..

  • Ben

    Paycheck?

  • Anthony

Pfft, no you don’t. Trolls be trolling.

  • PlanBFromOuterSpace

Don’t mind La Menthe. He’s not taking his loss at the Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards very well. You want to talk about underhanded politicking? Look no further…

  • Jonny Ashley

remember when he took jennifer garner out in the rain so he could see her with echolocation. that was a beautiful moment

  • Anthony

Awards in general mean nothing. His Oscar is just as meaningful as his Golden Globe.

  • rusinchicago

THE LAST ONE HE MAKES!!! (not really, just appropriate for the overkill from last week)

  • johnnygood

How about you go f**ck yourself, you snobby piece of shit! “Can’t accept that others like the film that I don’t like, so I call them a troll”!.

  • Anthony

Dude, take it easy. i watched The room and Birdemic for fuck sake’s. Who cares what I think about your opinion?

  • La sensacion sexual

Yeah, fuckers. Why are you hatin’ on my man? Kev Smith.
