Weekly Poll Results: Best Matt Damon Movie

MSDGOWI EC031

It was a close one, but in the end Film Junk readers selected Good Will Hunting as Matt Damon’s best movie in last week’s poll. It makes sense considering that the movie won him his only Oscar to date, but it’s hard not to feel that he has grown quite a bit as an actor since then. Just a few votes behind, The Departed came in second followed by Saving Private Ryan, The Bourne Identity and (somewhat surprisingly) The Talented Mr. Ripley. True Grit and the other two Bourne movies also received a significant number of votes while Courage Under Fire brought up the rear with a total of zero votes. I definitely expected some of his more recent movies to place a bit higher on the list, but no matter how you slice it, it’s a tough call. Do you agree with these results?

1. Good Will Hunting — 22%
2. The Departed — 21%
3. Saving Private Ryan — 8%
4. The Bourne Identity — 8%
4. The Talented Mr. Ripley — 8%
6. True Grit — 7%
7. The Bourne Ultimatum — 6%
8. The Bourne Supremacy — 5%
9. The Informant! — 4%
10. Ocean’s Eleven — 4%
11. Rounders — 3%
12. The Rainmaker — 2%
13. Gerry — 1%
13. The Adjustment Bureau — 1%
15. Contagion — 1%
15. Syriana — 1%
15. Behind the Candelabra — 1%
18. Courage Under Fire — 0%
