Fright Night 2: New Blood Trailer

frightnight2

A couple of years ago, Fox surprised horror fans by delivering a worthwhile remake that stood on its own with Fright Night starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell. Now it seems that they are throwing all of that goodwill away with a direct-to-DVD sequel called Fright Night 2: New Blood. As you can probably guess, director Craig Gillespie is not returning, nor are any of the original cast members (the movie will feature the same characters all played by different actors… yes, even Peter Vincent).

Fright Night 2: New Blood (no relation to the original 1988 sequel Fright Night Part 2) finds Charley Brewster and his buddy Evil Ed travelling abroad to study in Romania. They soon discover that their sexy professor (played by Jaime Murray, best known as the psycho girlfriend from the second season of Dexter) is actually a vampire, but no one believes them. You’d think they would have clued in to the fact that her name also happens to be Gerri Dandridge. Fright Night 2: New Blood hits DVD and Blu-ray on Oct. 1st; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Why!? If they were going to do a sequel it could have been a real one. Plus didnt evil ed die in the first movie?

A shame that they didn’t feel like it was worthwhile to riff on the original sequel. Of course, didn’t the last Fright Night tank? :(

Well this will be up there with all ‘the crow’ and the ‘from dusk till dawn’ sequels. Horrid. Really bloody horrid
