This Week on DVD and Blu-ray: Inescapable, 6 Souls, Venus and Serena

dvdinescapable

It’s basically bone dry this week when it comes to DVD and Blu-ray releases, but I guess that’s to be expected when there are major holidays happening in the U.S. and Canada. You know it’s a bad situation when the biggest titles hitting stores are essentially direct-to-DVD and/or VOD releases like 6 Souls starring Julianne Moore and Inescapable starring Alexander Siddig. There is at least a pair of interesting documentaries to choose from with the Williams sisters doc Venus and Serena and Eugene Jarecki’s The House I Live In, an examination of America’s drug enforcement policies. New to Blu-ray, we also have Mel Brooks’ original 1967 version of The Producers and John Landis’ segmented spoof comedy Kentucky Fried Movie. Will you be buying or renting anything this week?
