Although late August usually tends to be dominated by low budget horror movies, this year we’re also getting a handful of slightly more classy thrillers as well. Earlier this week we saw the trailer for Closed Circuit starring Eric Bana, and now today we’ve got the first trailer for a movie called Paranoia. Based on the novel by Joseph Finder, the story revolves around a young security consultant who finds himself drawn into the world of corporate espionage where he is hired to spy on his boss’s old mentor.

The movie has a pretty solid cast that includes Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, Amber Heard, Richard Dreyfuss and Josh Holloway. It could have potential, but it’s hard to tell from the trailer (admittedly, these kinds of thrillers are generally difficult to cut trailers for). I might be a little more excited if it wasn’t directed by Robert Luketic, who is best known for 21, Legally Blonde and the Ashton Kutcher spy flick Killers. Paranoia hits theatres on Aug. 16th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
