Some would say that Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney are facing an uphill battle with The Lone Ranger when it comes to trying to update an 80-year-old masked hero. How do you make old-timey Western elements like horses and trains seem exciting for today’s audiences? The answer is simple. You add some explosions. And then you have someone ride a horse on top of a train. And then you add more explosions. I will admit that the latest trailer hints at some fun action sequences, I just wish everything didn’t look so washed out and digital. The Lone Ranger stars Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp and it hits theatres on July 3rd. Check out the new trailer after the jump and see what you think.
