The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Trailer

The first trailer for The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire debuted last night on the MTV Movie Awards. Obviously this is going to be another massive hit, potentially even bigger than the first, but for myself, not having read the books, I was waiting to see what the hook for this second installment would be. Although I did enjoy the first movie, I am still not feeling a shred of anticipation for the next one and sadly this trailer didn’t do much for me. Perhaps it is the general lack of action shown thus far or perhaps it is the feeling that we’re just getting more of the same.

The plot involves Katniss and Peeta gaining too much public favour after their Victor’s Tour and a plot being hatched by eliminate them. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Plutarch Heavensbee, a shady character who appears to be pulling the strings behind the scenes with President Snow (Donald Sutherland). While his presence is somewhat intriguing, it’s not nearly enough to sell me on the movie. Gary Ross stepped down as the director on this one and instead was replaced by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend). The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres on Nov. 22nd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Oh dear. I saw the hunger games on DVD well after the hype as I was convinced it wouldn’t be my cup of tea. As it happened it turned out quite good! As for this trailer? Well I think we all wondered what a bigger budget would look like, but they failed to make me want to see this on the big screen once more……looks like a Saturday night on my comfy sofa with a fine ale kind of movie to me.
Ps has catness turned into the dark knight? I hope I don’t ever become a symbol! it seems if your a symbol your doomed!

I checked, but the Lawrences are not related. The trailer looks decent, and PSH is like the next Xbox: always on. So I’ll see this, but at home.

I didn’t even like the first one but for some reason i’m kind of excited for this. Maybe it’s just because of J-Law and P-Hoff.
