Weekly Poll Results: Best Disney 2D Animated Feature

MSDLIKI EC014

Last week we took a look back at some of Disney’s greatest 2D animated films and asked Film Junk readers to pick a winner. As difficult as the decision might have been, one movie clearly emerged victorious: over 34% of the votes went to The Lion King. This was followed by two other ’90s movies, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, which gives a pretty good indicator of the age demographic of Film Junk. Pinocchio and Fantasia did represent some of their earlier efforts, however, by rounding out the top 5. Pulling up the rear was 101 Dalmatians. Do you agree with these results?

1. The Lion King — 34%
2. Aladdin — 15%
3. Beauty and the Beast — 10%
4. Pinocchio — 9%
5. Fantasia — 7%
6. Robin Hood — 7%
7. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — 5%
8. Sleeping Beauty — 5%
9. The Little Mermaid — 3%
10. The Emperor’s New Groove — 3%
11. Bambi — 3%
12. 101 Dalmatians — 1%

  • Bambi and Little Mermaid stink. Sorry guys. So sorry.

You didn’t include the best Disney animated film ever, and my second favourite animated film, in your list, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, a film laden with adult themes. (Frank was right about this film).

  • Lion King is good but I wish Disney would admit it was a rip off of Kimba The White Lion.

  • Markus Krenn

Not enough love for Robin Hood
