It would be interesting if he did Evil Dead 4. They can easily keep the two continuities different since Evil Dead 2013 doesn't have an Ash type character in it. ED 2013 looks like it's going for a much more serious brutally violent tone, and Army of Darkness was much more comedic and slapstick. Plus, they can avoid Rambo-esque naming confusion and go with Army of Darkness 2 as the title instead of Evil Dead 4.

I don't see there being anything wrong with continuing/ finishing Ash's journey; even with an Evil Dead reboot already in motion. It's no different to me than Sean Connery reprising his role as James Bond in
Never Say Never Again; while at the same time Roger Moore was the current 007 at the time. As for Sam Raimi not knowing if he wants to direct it....he should see if Robert Rodriguez would like to take the helm. You throw Planet Terror, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Bruce Campbell into a pot....mix them up.....you got yourself an Evil Dead 4 film made by someone I'm sure would be just as honored to direct,as I'm sure Fede Alvarez was to direct the reboot. Spielberg did Indiana Jones 4, for the fans (not for himself) and look how that turned out. Perhaps the film might have been better giving Abrams the honor to take the directors chair. But really, it could go either way... sometimes I tend to accidentally forget the theatrical ending to Army of Darkness, compared to the DVD's messed up alternate ending. Evil Dead 4 shouldn't be made because it "can" be....only if it "must" be made. Everyone's heart has to be in it to win it.

I dunno. The Evil Dead movies are great because of their manic energy. Does Raimi have another Evil Dead in him? Especially if he's reluctant about it to begin with? It'd be a stretch for Campbell to come back. He'll be fighting zombies with a walker like in Bubba Ho Tep.
