Movie Poster Round-Up: Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel, A Good Day to Die Hard

A couple of big poster reveals today forced me to get off my ass and put together another long overdue Movie Poster Round-Up. First up we’ve got the debut poster for Star Trek Into Darkness, which everyone has already dismissed as being a rip-off of The Dark Knight Rises teaser poster. Fair enough, but what’s pretty fascinating is that it seems to imply the destruction of a futuristic London as well. We’ve also got a new poster for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, which shows Superman being handcuffed and led away by the military. What’s going on there? We should get trailers for both of these films with The Hobbit later this month.

Other new posters include a series of strange, phallic one-sheets for A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, a beautiful theatrical poster for Manborg, and a not-so-beautiful Ryan Gosling in the first promo art for Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives. We’ve also got the first poster for A Good Day to Die Hard, which doesn’t even need a title since it features the tag line “Yippee Ki-Yay Mother Russia.” That better not be the way they get around the F-bomb this time around. What do you think of these new posters? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

  • The Superman poster does nothing to get me excited at all. Helena Bonham Carter’s airbrushing makes her look 20! I both like and dislike the Hobbit ones…still making my mind up there.

he is still dead.. but he is getting warmer!

    Next poster :

    “he is getting stiffer..”

Manborg clearly the winner here, in both terms of technique and originality.

    But, what does Jerry think?
