I'd say that Jay was the polar opposite of jaded.

His enthusiastic reviews and willingness to give anything a watch, regardless of genre or era, is one of the highlights of the podcast for me.

Jay, you should take your 3D Prometheus blu to a friends house (Frank's?) and watch it. It's the first 3D blu ray I've seen that actually enhances the film, turning it into a thing of beauty.

I enjoy popcorn at the movies occasionally but it's definately a wierd cinema food staple, given it's crunchiness and noise creating properties.

Actually, I know exactly what Greg was talking about. It wasn't like Cash Cab or Taxi Cab Confessions. It was just a cab driving at night through the city of Toronto with just the cab driver's point of view. There was no talking, just the faint sounds of the background traffic. Nobody was shown inside the cab. It was just the view of the city at night, looking through the windshield. It would play very late at night with some soft jazzy music, I think. I wish I could remember the name of the show.

We actually have a few dinner/movie places in Minneapolis. They don't bother me in the slightest. In fact I enjoy sitting at a table and having pizza and beer delivered right to me... relatively inexpensive to boot.

When you go in expecting (like your haunted house example) food to be delivered and servers walking around, it isn't a big deal.

It's WAY better than going into a movie expecting quiet and getting some schmoe wrinkling a bag of popcorn.

omg I love the idea of a halloween special horror podcast!! But I want Reed into the game!

you should watch Martyrs, I spit on your grave ,Creep, and maybe Cannibal Holocaust or maybe if I can change your mind on the Serbian Film? :)

I don't understand why you are being so puritanical regarding this one, it's a loose remake of Salò, it's a political satire.

If you read reviews about it on Amazon 26 people gave it 0 star and 37 gave it 4 or 5 stars.. And Interestingly they all got it right from 5 stars to 0 star.
Personally I feel that the bluRay censored version is actually better. The film is not an easy watch. But at least it presents the violence ironically, it's the exact opposite of a horror porn even though the plot is revolving around people doing horror porn for an art-house director. The worst part was not the rape scene,, that was a joke, Interestingly what got me the most was the decapitation of the hooker. It reminded me of irreversible, it's not meant to be a spectacle. The problem is that most people are used to go into horror films expecting a spectacle and therefor seem to react negative with this one. "heeey this is not fun what are you doing to me? Death and horror is supposed to be fun!"

I admit that the film traumatised me for a year or so, I can't see how anyone can enjoy this it's genuinely fucked up and like the protagonist I had no fucking idea what I was getting into but I would rather watch that again than re-watch a Saw film. What this film does is curing you of the need to watch any horror film ever again. It's fucking hard to watch but I think that was the point. it's not a pair of jiggling breasts in your face. It's a kick in the nuts..

Anyways.. Watch it if you Liked Straw Dogs Martyrs and I spit on your Grave, it's not as good but it's better than Frontiers, ils, inside ,La Horde or Calvaire.

Surely better than HC2. Don't watch it if you didn't like any of the above and seriously DON'T watch it if you don't like horror films in general.
