Parental Guidance Trailer Starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler

Billy Crystal is back, baby! So uh… yay? It’s been almost a decade since he’s had any major roles (not counting voice acting and cameos) with Analyze That being the last time we’ve really seen him on screen. After hosting the Oscars last year, it seems to have inspired him to get back in the swing of things. Now we’re about to get another heartwarming family comedy just in time for the holidays… which is great news, because there’s no Fockers sequel this year!

Parental Guidance stars Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as two grandparents who are asked to babysit their three grandchildren while their mother (Marisa Tomei) is out of town for work. It looks like a pretty inoffensive middle-of-the-road comedy about the generational divide and the change in parenting styles over the years, and I’m sure it will do quite well despite the fact that this holiday season is already packed with big movies. Parental Guidance is directed by Andy Fickman (The Game Plan, Race to Witch Mountain) and hits theatres on Christmas Day. Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

  • If a family-targeted comedy with adult appeal catches on at the holidays, it could play a lot stronger than it should. This is opening in the Fockers slot this year, which is pretty lucrative and can make even relative under-performers look strong. If it connects at all, 100+ million minimum should be easy.

Marisa Tomei is a fox, even in that ridiculous pose.

Looks like such a shitty and boring comedy.. I might check it out for Marisa though. Damn her fine body..
