Trouble with the Curve Trailer Starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake

It’s been a long time since Clint Eastwood has starred in a movie that he didn’t direct (Wolfgang Petersen’s In the Line of Fire back in 1993, to be exact), but he has apparently decided to give it another shot for Trouble with the Curve, the directorial debut of Robert Lorenz. Lorenz has been an assistant director on several of Eastwood’s films over the past decade, so they clearly have a working relationship, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Eastwood helped out behind the camera here as well. The movie also seems just as sentimental as some of Eastwood’s other recent films and the humour is equally as corny.

The story revolves around an aging baseball scout (Eastwood) who recruits his daughter (Amy Adams) to help him out on one last trip. Along the way they cross paths with a rival scout and former player (Justin Timberlake) who takes an interest in his daughter. Is it this year’s Moneyball? Definitely not, but I guess there’s always a certain appeal to seeing Clint Eastwood play a grouchy old man. Trouble with the Curve hits theatres on September 21st; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

How long can Clint continue to play the “aging” whatever? He’s been doing “aging” for over twenty years. Clint’s past aging. Amy could play his granddaughter, much less his daughter.
