After releasing a couple of mysterious teaser trailers last month, the first real theatrical trailer for P.T. Anderson’s The Master has finally hit the web. It’s a little more conventional in structure, but if anything, it makes it clear that this is a rather unconventional movie. There is some gorgeous imagery here, along with the promise of some pretty big ideas and strong performances from Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix. Not only that, but they also threw Tom Cruise’s least favourite line of dialogue right in the trailer! How’s ballsy is that? At this point, I don’t see how this isn’t the most anticipated film of the fall. The Master hits theatres on Oct. 12th; check out the new trailer after the jump and see what you think.
