No kidding, how in the world did Dark Shadows cost 150 million? And that’s before promotion I assume? Jesus, I guess Burton and Depp will be getting extra cheese on their Whoppers for the next year.

It’s ridiculous how Dark Shadows was ever granted a budget of 150 million. Even if the reviews were amazing I can’t see it actually making that much money. 70 – 80 million would have been more appropriate for this type of film and then it would have been a success.

I think this was the wrong time of year for Dark Shadows to be released. It just doesn’t feel like a summer movie. Did the other studios not expect Avengers to be this big? Obviously not if they expected to make back a lot of their big budget on opening weekend while in competition with it.
