House at the End of the Street Trailer Starring Jennifer Lawrence

After picking up an Oscar nomination for her performance in Winter’s Bone and then becoming a household name thanks to X-Men: First Class and The Hunger Games, we’re about to find out if Jennifer Lawrence’s name is now big enough to single-handedly sell a movie. House at the End of the Street looks like a pretty generic horror flick, the kind of thing that probably wouldn’t get any attention at all if Lawrence wasn’t starring in it. Granted, Elisabeth Shue also co-stars, but director Mark Tonderai is an unknown quantity and screenwriter David Loucka (Dream House) isn’t much more accomplished.

The story finds Elissa (Lawrence) and her mom (Shue) moving to a new town in a house next door to a place where a girl murdered her parents. When Elissa befriends the surviving son (Max Thieriot), her past comes back to haunt her. The trailer uses an interesting concept of rewinding time to reveal information, but it’s unclear if the movie uses a similar storytelling technique. Either way, it will probably be up to Lawrence to elevate this to become something more than just another mediocre thriller. House at the End of the Street hits theatres on September 21st; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Creatively edited trailer but I’m not too impressed with the Title of the film. Sounds too similar to
    Last House on the Left.
