Weekly Poll Results: Most Deserving Best Picture Nominee at the 2012 Oscars

Although Vegas bookies are making it pretty clear that The Artist is the odds-on favourite to win Best Picture this year, it’s kind of interesting that there doesn’t isn’t one clear favourite in terms of fan support. Last week we asked you guys which Best Picture nominee you were rooting for, and the results came back with six of the nine choices all receiving a significant number of votes. Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life ultimately won out with almost a quarter of the total votes, but Moneyball and Hugo weren’t all that far behind. The Artist, Midnight in Paris and The Descendants also had their share of supporters, while The Help, War Horse and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close were mostly shunned. I think I was most surprised by how few votes War Horse had… I figured Spielberg would get a little more love. Do you agree with these results?

1. The Tree of Life — 24.8%
2. Moneyball — 20.5%
3. Hugo — 15.9%
4. The Artist — 11.8%
5. Midnight in Paris — 11.3%
6. The Descendants — 10.7%
7. The Help — 2.3%
8. War Horse — 1.5%
9. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close — 1.3%
