Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirmed for The Tomb with Sylvester Stallone

After co-starring in The Expendables and its upcoming sequel, Arnold Schwarzenegger has chosen to once again act alongside Sylvester Stallone in The Tomb, a good, old-fashioned prison break film. Stallone will play a man who designs an “escape-proof” prison only to be set up for a crime and sent to the prison he designed. He must then plan his escape and uncover who put him there in the first place. Schwarzenegger will play a fellow inmate who fights to maintain the prisoner’s humanity. While that’s about as standard a plot for a prison film that you can get, the idea of these two action heroes co-starring will be the main selling point for audiences anyway. The Tomb will be directed by Mikael Hafstrom (The Rite, 1408) and has a screenplay by Miles Chapman and Jason Keller.
Before the duo start work on their new film, they needed a little repair work done, which led to the picture above. Schwarzenegger and Stallone recently found themselves in the same hospital, each having shoulder surgeries. Arnold posted the picture on WhoSay, with the following comment:
“After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback”
As amusing as that picture is, it does make you wonder how much longer these guys can keep doing the types of roles they became famous for. Then again, maybe The Expendables 2 will come out and put any concerns to rest. Are you looking forward to another Arnold and Sly pairing in The Tomb?
