Plenty of options for DVD and Blu-ray shoppers out there this week, although most of the major releases are far from top notch picks. At the very least you’ve got Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, which is definitely a buy, but beyond that you’ve got a couple of horror releases to choose from including the remake / prequel to John Carpenter’s The Thing and Dream House starring Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz. Other major titles include Andrew Niccol’s goofy sci-fi actioner In Time starring Justin Timberlake, espionage thriller The Double starring Richard Gere, and the poorly received birdwatching comedy The Big Year starring Owen Wilson, Jack Black and Steve Martin. Also new to Blu this week is Spike Jonze’s Adaptation and Spike Lee’s Malcolm X, plus the massive Transformers Limited Edition Collector’s Trilogy and just a taste of Star Trek: The Next Generation in high-def.
