Weekly Poll Results: Best Steven Soderbergh Movie

With Steven Soderbergh continuing to make headlines this week, it would seem that last week’s poll results are still somewhat topical. BONUS! We asked you guys to pick your favourite Soderbergh movie, and the final count was extremely close. In the end, it was Ocean’s Eleven by a nose… who’d a thunk it? I know some people were disappointed that Ocean’s Twelve and Thirteen weren’t on the poll, so I’m assuming this probably included votes for the entire trilogy as well. Traffic was a very close second, and together they made up over 50% of the votes. Out of Sight, The Limey, and his most recent film Contagion rounded out the top 5. Schizopolis and King of the Hill pulled up the rear… apparently they’re a little too obscure even for Soderbergh fans. Do you agree with these results?

1. Ocean’s Eleven — 27.2%
2. Traffic — 26.9%
3. Out of Sight — 14.4%
4. The Limey — 9.9%
5. Contagion — 7.2%
6. Sex, Lies and Videotape — 6.1%
7. Che — 3.5%
8. Erin Brockovich — 2.7%
9. Schizopolis — 1.6%
10. King of the Hill — 0.5%

  • people can act all macho, and hate on “the mouth”, but Erin Brockovich is his most “well made” movie

Ocean’s Eleven is my favorite heist movie of all time, so it’s a well deserved win. A little odd Solaris weren’t on the poll, though. Excellent movie.

  • As far as Solaris goes, I replaced it at the last minute with Schizopolis and King of the Hill mainly because they both had much higher RT and IMDb ratings. But I guess that’s pretty irrelevant if no one has seen them!

  • What the hell, I’ll just throw another recommendation for King Of The Hill, the best Soderbergh movie you haven’t seen. Who else voted for it? Let’s open a secret club and feel very special and snobbish!

Schizopoliss clearly the best. Poll results highly suspect.

  • My favorite is KEANE, also enjoyed GFE n BUBBLE.

  • Deven Science

Schizopolis is not exactly a “good” movie, as it’s strange and complex, but I would highly recommend it to people. It attempts weird stuff, and the scenes in which the characters speak their intended messages rather than what actually comes out of their mouths is very clever.

Am I really the only one that loves Bubble? Freaking love that movie.
