London Boulevard Trailer Starring Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley

Not only was Martin Scorsese’s The Departed a box office hit, but it also won 4 Oscars in 2007 including the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. It was only the third script that William Monahan had written, but it definitely took his career to new heights, leading very quickly to more projects and even his first chance to direct. His directorial debut, London Boulevard, was adapted from the novel of the same name by Irish writer Ken Bruen and hit theatres in the U.K. last November. Next month IFC Films will finally release the movie here in North America.
The story revolves around an ex-con named Mitchel (played by Colin Farrell) who is doing his best to go straight after being released from jail. He takes a job as a bodyguard for a Hollywood actress (Keira Knightley), but when a crime boss named Gant (Ray Winstone) comes calling, he finds himself forced to make some tough decisions. The trailer didn’t really blow me away but I have been a fan of Monahan’s other scripts (including Edge of Darkness) and I’m curious to see what he can do as a director. London Boulevard hits select theatres on November 11th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
