The Catechism Cataclysm Trailer Starring Steve Little

I first heard about The Catechism Cataclysm prior to its premiere at Sundance back in February and, at the time, made a mental note to keep an ear to the ground for more info. Now, 8 months later, IFC Midnight will finally bring this little indie comedy to theatres and video-on-demand… and I still haven’t heard much more about it. Maybe not a good sign but hey, it’s Stevie from Eastbound & Down! What more do you need to know?

Steve Little stars as Father Billy, a young priest who tracks down an old high school friend and organizes a canoe trip with him. Robbie (Robert Longstreet) is a former heavy metal rocker and does not appear to have much in common with Billy, but when the duo get lost in the wilderness, their surreal journey leads to a mutual understanding. The movie was reportedly shot in just 12 days by writer/director Todd Rohal and was produced by Jody Hill, Danny McBride and David Gordon Green. The Catechism Cataclysm hits theatres on October 19th and VOD one week later; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

    I feel like a dork for laughing. Looks like harmless fun.

  • Saw it at SXSW. This movie is unbelievably bad.

    @Nat Almirall
    I’ll take your word for it. Though it does look like something I’ll put in the player on a slow Sunday.
