New to Theatres This Weekend: Colombiana, Our Idiot Brother, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark

It’s another slow August weekend at the movies… plenty of new releases, but none of them expected to drum up much business. Leading the way is the Luc Besson-produced action-thriller Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana, along with the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror remake Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and the Paul Rudd comedy Our Idiot Brother. In select theatres, we also have Vera Farmiga’s Higher Ground, Rowan Joffe’s Brighton Rock, and Mario Van Peebles’ Redemption Road. In addition, Sony is bringing Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris back out in wide release. Do you think The Help will be a repeat winner at the box office? What will you be watching this weekend?
