Underworld: Awakening Trailer Starring Kate Beckinsale

It may seem hard to believe, but the fourth installment of the Underworld series is almost upon us, with Kate Beckinsale returning after sitting out the 2009 prequel, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Much like Vin Diesel’s return to the Fast & Furious franchise, it doesn’t necessarily bode well for her career that she has decided to suit up as Selene again, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if this makes Underworld: Awakening the most successful Underworld film yet. Although the above still looks like it could have been pulled directly from the very first Underworld flick, something tells me no one is looking for Underworld 4 to break any new ground.

This time around it seems that humans have discovered the secret war that has been going on between Lycans and Vampires, and they are now out to destroy both races. To help them with their goal, a company called BioCom is trying to create a deadly new breed of super Lycans. The movie was written by J. Michael Straczynski (Changeling, Ninja Assassin) and is being helmed by Swedish directors Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein (Shelter). Does this look like everything you had hoped it would be? Underworld: Awakening hits theatres on January 20th; check out the trailer after the jump.

I’ll see this. Though I’ve only seen the first one, so maybe the other two are shit.

  • Why isn’t there a Underworld and Resident Evil mash-up movie. Their both basically the same damn movie.

I’ve enjoyed these on the same level as the RE films. Decent action fluff that doesn’t disappoint, except RE4 which was a piece of shit.
