In stores this week we’ve got deranged crime fighters, a couple of disappointing comedies that may or may not deserve a second chance, a Disney dud and an old Disney classic. The biggest releases of the week include the sci-fi comedy Paul starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, ’80s fantasy stoner comedy Your Highness starring Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman, the CG performance capture film Mars Needs Moms. However, this week’s diamond in the rough is definitely James Gunn’s Super, a disturbing yet hilarious take on a real-life superhero starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page. New to Blu-ray we also have The Fox and the Hound and its sequel, Jim Jamusch’s Dead Man, the Criterion release of The Battle of Algiers, and the non-Criterion release of Dazed and Confused. Plus, if you grew up in the ’80s, you may or may not be excited to see the animated series M.A.S.K. finally making its DVD debut. Will you be buying or renting anything this week?
