Tower Heist Trailer Starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller

Try to contain your excitement, folks… we’ve got the first trailer for Brett Ratner’s next movie and I know you’re all dying to see it. His last feature-length project was Rush Hour 3 back in 2007, and since then he’s flirted with a number of other potential gigs but never followed through on them (Escape From New York, Conan, Hercules, and God of War to name a few). In the meantime, he paid the bills by helping to get Guitar Hero product placement in as many movies as possible, and now he is back with a movie that seems to be somewhat similar in tone to the Rush Hour series: a crime comedy called Tower Heist.
At the very least, I’ll admit that the film has a somewhat intriguing cast. This could be the first Eddie Murphy movie I’ve had any ounce of interest in for over a decade, and he is teamed with Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Michael Peña and Casey Affleck. (All the people who said Gabourey Sidibe would never get another role after Precious have also clearly been proven wrong.) This looks like fairly harmless, middle of the road fun… it might have even been a welcome addition to this summer’s line-up of overly serious blockbusters. What do you think, will Brett Ratner’s name keep you far away from this or will you give Tower Heist a chance? The movie hits theatres on November 4th; check out the trailer after the jump.
