I crept into an early viewing of Transformers yesterday, after getting off, and, unknowingly, ended up watching and enjoying the film with basically a whole theater full of new military recruits.

At the most basic level it was a whole lot of the same things that everyone that watched the 1st two movies experienced, but there was actually a story in this one, in addition to the t& a and eye candy, and there was actually some kind of soul involved in the movie itself.

There were surprises and twists, visually and emotionally, and those things are what really made the movie worthwhile, this time.

Long story short, the movie ended, basically every damn person in the theater clapping enthusiastically, with satisfaction. Nuff said.

It was quite disappointing, the story never went anywhere and nothing really happened.

It had very abrupt changes in tone from high action to shitty teen love. The editing was also a bit constant, never any high or low points. The story never really "kicked in" and got started.

Maybe I was expecting a different kind of movie... but it was a bit of a letdown.
