I saw the midnight showing of "X-Men: First Class" last night and it was definitely worth the wait. A very smart and sexy comic book movie that was very intelligent but also extremely entertaining.

Definitely on par with X-Men 1 & 2, if not a step or two above those films. The only complaint I would make, and it's not solely against this film, but just the trend that we are now experiencing with all these prequels and how odd it feels to go see a movie and know generally how it's going to end or what the general outcome is going to be.

Obviously, I went to see the film and they got my money, so the problem can't be that serious, yet, but I really wish these companies/individuals, whoever, would start coming up with some fresh new ideas.

Regardless, like I said, the movie was great. There were definitely a handful of nice surprises. There were the usual headaches involved with going to see a movie with this type of appeal ,at the theater, but I knew what I was getting myself in for before I stepped out of the door.

This is why I prefer to just catch a lot of stuff on blu-ray these days.

Even with the headaches, I feel it was worthwhile and I think a lot of people will head out this weekend to see this movie.
