Zookeeper Trailer #2

I know I’ve already been whining about the dearth of decent summer comedies this year, and just when Bridesmaids comes along to lift my spirits, I watch a trailer like this one and all my doubts come flooding back. Let’s face it, the new Kevin James flick was never going to be a masterpiece, but Zookeeper seems like pretty low brow fare even for him. It also appears to be one big ad for T.G.I. Friday’s (do companies have to pay extra to get product placement in the trailer as well as the movie?). Of course, the talking animals thing pretty much guarantees that this is going to be huge.
James plays Griffin Keyes, a down-on-his-luck zookeeper who loses the girl of his dreams because she just doesn’t respect his job. But when he starts considering a new line of work, the animals decide to start communicating with him in order to help turn his life around. Based on the trailer, it doesn’t seem like there are many humans in this movie aside from Kevin James, Rosario Dawson and Leslie Bibb, but fortunately Adam Sandler, Jon Favreau, Sylvester Stallone, Cher, and Judd Apatow all provide funny voices. What do you think, is Paul Blart the new Ace Ventura? Zookeeper hits theatres on July 8th; check out the full theatrical trailer after the jump.
