With Bridesmaids being the first big summer comedy to hit theatres this weekend, we’re also finally getting our first look at another funny movie coming in July called Horrible Bosses. The movie stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day as three employees who absolutely hate their respective bosses, and hatch a plan to.. uh… remove them from their lives. Permanently. A little dark, perhaps, but something we can all relate to, right?
The movie is being directed by Seth Gordon (The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters), and it definitely looks like a step up from his last fictional film, Four Christmases. Unfortunately, I still have to add this to the list of bland comedies coming out this summer that I just can’t get excited about. Jason Bateman has been starring in so much stuff lately and not bringing much to the table, meanwhile Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell do not seem like particularly inspired choices to play the “horrible bosses” in the film. And Jamie Foxx as a sketchy hitman named Motherfucker Jones? I think they’re trying a little too hard here. Horrible Bosses hits theatres on July 8th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
