Regardless of their personal issues, I’m delighted to see a document of their contribution to the music we hear today.

Their musical approach and lighter lyrical content made them far more accessible than the raw underground and that changed so much still being felt today.

I cannot wait to see and review this myself, although I may struggle to be completely impartial…

I see that the official release beyond festival circuit is July 8th. I just hope it doesn’t get pushed back more than it already has. Whether Ali, Tip & Phife disapprove of the outcome, I couldn’t care less. They probably just don’t wanna portrayed in a bad light. The feud has been obvious for so long for rap fans. While I should be satisfied such a documentary has been made, I’d love to tap more into that era, most notably the whole Native Tongues movement which Tribe was a part of along De La Soul & Busta Rhymes. Well,m I’m going to see this movie ON july 8th

I was into hiphop big time and no rapper or group meant as much to me as Tribe. So I’m glad to hear about this doc and sad to hear about the drama. But I want to quest with the questers, so I’m seeing this doc!

Yeah, this is a more recent interview with Rapaport that addresses some of the stuff. I guess they are now in support of it, which is good to hear.

I’m glad that the film is getting a positive response. For several months, I’ve been a little worried after seeing the Tribe Called Quest MTV interview on the documentary. There was a time where they didn’t support the doc because Rapaport portrayed some imbalances in early cuts of the film.

If you guys wanna see the drama check this link out. It’s quite interesting.

I know of the band but never followed them. I was and am not a fan of hip hop but realize the popularity and influence that the genre has had on society, good and bad, like any creative source.

I was wondering what Rapaport was up too. He disappeared for awhile after leaving Smallville.
